About Us

Mondelise Papillons are owned by Sharon and Don Mahoney in Australia. Sharons interest is mainly in the breeding and showing of the dogs, while Dons involvement extends to judging. Don began judging at championship level in 1982 with Gundogs and has since been licensed to judge Toys, Terriers and Hounds & Working Dogs. He has judged in all Australian States, the Northern Territory as well as South Africa, New Zealand,  Japan and Sweden. 

Our kennel was founded in 1972 with our first Papillon Ch Karo Black Magic CDX.    Our foundation bitch Ch Triomphe Filomene joined us in 1977 and we bred our first litter in 1979.  Filomene was an outstanding brood bitch and was the dam of 8 champion progeny. 

Since that time there have been over 65 homebred Papillon Champions and we have exported dogs who gone on to be champions in New Zealand, Singapore, South Africa, Japan, France, Luxembourg, United States & Korea as well as of course Australia.  We have also exported to Sweden. We have bred four individual All Breeds Best in Show winners, one of whom was also Runner Up Best in Group at Australia's largest dog show, the Melbourne Royal. 

Under the Dubliner prefix, Don bred 10 Irish Setter Champions (one of which was titled in both Australia & New Zealand) and under the Afilar prefix he had 3 Papillon Champions and 6 Saluki Champions. 

Over the years we have imported a number of dogs from countries such as England, Japan, Sweden, the United States of America & Holland.  These dogs have all played a significant role in our breeding programme and will continue to help us achieve our goals.
